Masih dari Press Con kehadiran Miss World 2010 di Indonesia, mari kita baca kelanjutan cerita Dyra yuk!
Sambutan dilanjutkan oleh Ibu Martha Tillaar dan Manager Project Miss Indonesia Ibu kanti Mirdianti. Setelah sambutan usai, kini giliran Syifa angkat bicara. Syifa mengatakan kalau ia sangat kangen dan rindu untuk bertemu dengan Alexi, mengingat keduanya adalah sama-sama kontestan MW, keduanya lama tak jumpa dan dua-duanya pun kehilangan Contact Book yang disediakan saat di Sanya. Dan ia berharap dengan datangnya MW ke Miss Indonesia 2011, diharapkan akan memotivasi para kandidat untuk dapat memberikan yang terbaik dari diri mereka di ajang ini.
“Hm… Indonesia is so amazing, I feel flattered! The people, the food, the cultures, and also the weather, It’s very hot here. But that’s OK” Alexi membuka percakapan, “I feel so grateful, with my title, I’m able to go to many countries to help another.” Kemudian ia bercerita mengenai kunjungan yang tak terlupakan saat ia di Filipina, di sebuah rumah sakit, tergeletak seorang bayi malang yang sedang sakit sedangkan sang orang tua tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa. Dia sangat bersyukur, menjadi Miss World dia dapat membantu semua orang, berusaha mengumpulkan dana charity, yang merupakan touching moment yang akan dia simpan selama hidupnya. Selesai dengan Alexi, MC pun bertanya kepada sang chaperone Steve Douglas bagaimana kesan datang ke Indonesia untuk yang kedua kalinya.
“Miss Indonesia, she's fine, so friendly. Look at those two young ladies right now. They have been good friends in just a few hour.” Dengan panjang lebar ia bercerita mengenai sejarah MWO dan upaya yang telah mereka lakukan untuk membantu semua orang, “I always talk to every Miss World, you’ll meet many people, and you have to act as their friend, keep it humble.” Itulah prinsip yang ia katakan kepada setiap pemenang Miss World. Steve juga sempat mengemukakan pendapatnya mengenai Miss Indonesia, beliau bilang kalau tahun ini Miss Indonesia mengalami peningkatan dalam pemilihan kandidat, dan dia berharap Indonesia juga biasa menjadi bagian dari Miss World.
“This year, all the delegates are strong, and beautiful. I hope whoever win, she’ll represent Indonesia well to compete in London. Remember, we are Miss World Organization, the first, the oldest than another international pageants. All people can say we are a pageant, but we prefer to say we are a festival of the beauties. We did it so fine, high class, and with the Beauty with the Purpose, we have a platform to help another people with Miss World’s beauty”.
Lanjut ke sesi tanya jawab, dan ... I got the luck. Slot sesi pertanyaan untuk tiga orang, gw salah satunya! Yay. Setelah pihak Majalah High Magazine bertanya mengenai bagaimana perasaan Alexi memenangkan MW dan hal-hal yang membuat MW berbeda dari Miss yang lain di mata Steve, giliran gw bertanya. Gak mau kalah sama si High Magz yg nanyanya pake bahasa Inggris, gw pun cas cis cus Ingrris dengan keterbatasan yg ada.
Dyra IP : “Good Afternoon, Alexi, you now a Miss World, and have visited another countries, on your mind, do you think first of your self as the citizen of you country, your state or the world?”
Dan SKAK MAT! Alexi menjawabnya dengan jawaban yang sangat keren. Terpukau gw dengernya ...
Alexi : “When I was a child, I just knew about Kentucky, so I thought I’m the citizen of the Kentucky, when I grew up and I knew about United States, I realized that I’m the citizen of US. Right now I have met so many people in the whole country to help them, bringing my Beauty with a Purpose, so I think it’s so important to think of my self as the citizen of the world. I cant help the world, if I can’t be part of it.”
Berikutnya giliran ke Steve Douglas nih ...
Dyra IP : “for Mr Daughlas, nowaday the politics and the parties are getting rude and ugly, how can Miss World Organization teaches to everyone, that the pageant is a healthy competition so that the winner is able to be a great role model?”
Steve Douglas : “Yes we are, Miss World is a healthy competition, all the 120 beauties from nations in the world come together here for one vision to do positive things. We’re not like politic that using another way to get the goal. We appeared to help another, and the contestants appeared not as a partisans but as one for the world. They love to each other help to each other, building relations even they compete to win the title. And I think people need to see that.”
Dyra IP : “Is it possible to host MW in Indonesia, meanwhile, in our pageant industry, swimsuit is still a taboo?”Steve Douglas : “It’s so possible. Julia and I have talked and considered it, and we’ve learned the cultures and the heritage. If swimsuit is the problem, remember, we have Beach Beauty, the competition is held on the beach not on the stage in ball room just like the other pageant. Indonesians must have understood about it.”
Satu jam telah berlalu, acarapun ditutup dengan foto-foto bersama para petinggi sponsor Miss Indonesia, dan personal interview yang ditujukan kepada wartawan yang belum mendapat kesempatan untuk bertanya. Dalam sekejap Asyifa Latief dan Alexandria Mills berada di tengah-tengah gerombolan wartawan majalah, koran dan infotainment.
So … guys, jangan lewatkan Malam Puncak Miss Indonesia 2011 dengan special perform Alexandria Mills, Jumat 3 Juni 2011 Dari Ballroom Central Park!
