Sometimes winning the bronze tasted just as sweet as the gold. This happens at Miss USA 1967. That year, Sylvia Hitchcock was crowned Miss USA, but shortly after, she was crowned Miss Universe 1967. So her first runner-up Susan Bradley of California was offered the Miss USA title. To the surprise of many, she refused to assume the title with her infamous response "Thanks, but No Thanks", so the title passed on to the second runner-up Cheryl Patton of Florida. And suddenly the third place winner becomes the first place, just like a domino effect!
